 This
is a similar tour as the Glimpse of Bhutan with an extra day
hike to the popular Taktsang Monastery which, clings on a black
granite cliff 3000 feet above the Valley of Paro. Legend has
that, in the 8th century Guru Padmasambhava flew on a back of
tigress and meditated in the cave and subdue the local deities
that were obstructing the spread of Dharma.
ITINERARY:
DAY 01 (THU): KATHMANDU – PARO
After breakfast drive to Kathmandu airport for your flight to
Paro. Your guide will greet you at the airport and transfer
you to Hotel Druk, perched on a hill with great view of the
valley.
DAY 02 (FRI): SIGHTSEEING IN PARO
Begin your day with sightseeing around the valley and in the
evening drive to Thimphu the capital city. Overnight at Druk
Hotel.
DAY 03 (SAT): EXCURSION TO TIGER'S
NEST
The hike from the foothill to the Tiger's nest will take about
3 hrs. It is a hike that will be remembered forever.
DAY 04 (SUN): SIGHTSEEING IN THIMPHU
Start the day with visits to Memorial Chorten, National Library,
Traditional medicine institute, traditional painting school
and many other places of interest. Evening drive back to Paro.
DAY 05 (MON): THIMPHU – PARO - KATHMANDU
Depart to Kathmandu with memories of the last Shangri – La and
transfer to hotel. to Hotel. |
