Bhutan Treks

No one seems to know exactly the meaning of the word Bhutan but it is believed that it is derived from `Bhot’ which is the name given by Tibetans to their own country and `Tan’ which is a corruption of the word `stan’ meaning Land. The Bhutanese however prefer to call their country `Druk-Yul’ which means `The Land of the Dragon’. Bhutan is renowned for its undiluted cultures and unspoiled natural wonders. Bhutan’s past is still its present.

Bhutan is a little piece of heaven on earth - a virtually untouched world where spirituality is still the way of life, where time moves at a much slower and peaceful rhythm, and nature is bestowed the respect it deserves. Its pastoral valleys are dominated by 16th-century monasteries presided over by red-robed lamas, and nomadic yak herders roam the high mountain valleys.

You'll explore both aspects of this unspoiled world as you visit Bhutan's extraordinary dzongs (fortress-like citadels) and trek in a mountain realm of snowy peaks, trout-filled lakes, and pretty fields of wildflowers. On trek, you'll witness the best of Bhutan's Himalayan grandeur, including the sacred mountain of Chomolhari (24,000'), and enjoy the warm welcome of yak-herding families of the highlands who meet the modern world on their own terms.

We’re the experts when it comes to Bhutan trekking! Country Holidays Pvt Ltd has been offering Bhutan tours and treks since long time.
