Everest
in Tibet straddles the east section of the Nepal/Tibet border,
with its northern side lying in the Tingri Country. The route
is complex and difficult and the summit day long and tiring
but the allure of climbing
the Everest from the Tibet side is always magical.
Cho
Oyu has higher rate of success than other 8000m peaks simply
because of the easy access to the base
camp and short and all fixed technical sections during the
climbing.
Among
the 14 peaks over 8000 meters in the world, Shishapangma of
8027 meters ranks last. It happens to be the only peak lying
entirely in Tibet. The best timing for mountaineering activities
comes each year in
April, May and October, November.
A
stunningly beautiful peak, Gulha Kangri sits on the Tibet
/ Bhutan border. From Lhasa the approach to the peak takes
two days. We will travel through the region of Lhodak, a stronghold
of Tibetan Buddhist culture.
Nayainqentanglha
lies in Damxung county of the Tibet Autonomous Region. Nyainqentanglha
has characteristics
in the obvious inland arid climate as it lies in the hinterland
of the continent.
